Imperial government accuses Huenya, claims breach of Jinyu accords

In a brazen attack in the early hours this morning, the headquarters of the Xiomeran secret police was attacked in what appears to be a prison break attempt.

The Cauhloc, the headquarters of Xiomera's Agency for Security and Intelligence (ASI), was raided by "somewhere between twenty and forty attackers," Quihichua, Xiomeran Minister of Security, told the media this morning. "The attack was part of a plan to remove the accused traitor Cozamalotl from our custody, an attempt which was thwarted by the bravery and ferocious response of ASI and Imperial security forces," the Minister said. She went on to accuse the Huenyan government of being behind the raid, saying that Xiomeran forces "captured and killed" several Huenyan agents at the scene.

"We have ample evidence already that the Huenyan separatist government is behind this blatant assault on Xiomeran sovereignty and the loss of life of our security personnel," the Minister said, adding that several ASI agents were killed during the raid. She declined to specify exactly how many Xiomeran security personnel were killed or injured during the raid, saying that the Imperial government "will release more information as our investigation into this attack proceeds."

Xiomeran security forces have been engaged in a manhunt throughout the capital today, seeking "further suspects" and promising further arrests.

Speaking to the media this morning, a clearly angry Empress Calhualyana reiterated the Xiomeran claim that the Huenyan government was behind the attack on the Cauhloc. "We will insist that the international community, under the Jinyu Agreement, hold the Huenyan Federation responsible for this unprovoked and violent invasion of Xiomeran territory and the death and injuries to our security personnel," the Empress said. While stopping short of threatening immediate retaliation against Huenya, the Empress said that Xiomera "will respond to this Huenyan aggression if the international community does not." Foreign observers have reported that Xiomeran defense forces have raised their defensive posture and moved units closer to the Huenyan border within the past few hours of the attack at the Cauhloc.

The Huenyan government has not issued any statement yet in response to the Xiomeran accusations. The Chamber of Executives, the current defacto Huenyan government in the run-up to elections there, has called an emergency meeting.
